The Choral Arts Society of Southeastern Wisconsin (CAS) will present Carmina Burana in collaboration with The Studio of Classical Dance Arts on Saturday, May 18th and Sunday, May 19th at 2:00 PM, Mainstage Theatre, The Rita at UW-Parkside in Kenosha.

Experience Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana in an exciting production, staged and choreographed by The Studio artistic team of Marc and Linda Darling. The composer intended his setting of medieval poetry to be a feast for the ears and the eyes. The joys and sorrows of youth, love, and fortune will be sumptuously displayed with dance, choreography, and visual design wrapped in some of the most memorable and dramatic music ever written. Student dancers from The Studio and singers from The Prairie School will join CAS with two pianos and a profusion of percussion creating a boisterous spectacle for the senses.

“Carmina Burana is one of the most iconic and recognizable pieces in the choral literature. When you add dancers, percussion, staging, costume and lighting it becomes a feast for the senses! This music has been used in commercials, movie scores and even played at sporting events. You will not want to miss this amazing theatrical production.” Maestro Schatzman added, “the costumes, the stunning choreography, the lighting design, and the power of the choral singing will take your breath away!”

The Choral Arts Society is in its 37th season of presenting live choral music programs. Experiencing live music ignites a joy and sense of community that nurtures and heals. Join with the members of the CAS to share in this wonderful and moving experience!
