Over Our Head Players – Snowdance 10 Minute Comedy Festival Auditions

The Over Our Head Players will hold open auditions for the 21st annual Snowdance 10 Minute Comedy Festival. Auditions will be held on Tuesday, November 19th at 7:00pm at the Sixth Street Theatre, 318 Sixth Street, Racine. Roles available will be for both men and women of all ages and backgrounds. Usually, a cast of about 10 to 12 people is needed for this yearly production.
Auditions will involve cold readings from the scripts and prepared pieces are not necessary. No previous theatrical experience is necessary to audition or to volunteer. Volunteers are also needed in all technical capacities, including stage management, props, costumes, set building, lights, running crew, ushers and concessions.
Performances will be at the Sixth Street Theatre, 318 Sixth Street, Racine. Shows run Thursdays through Sundays from February 7th through March 9th. Thursdays are at 7:00p.m. Fridays are at 8:00p.m. Saturdays are at 5:30p.m. and 8:00p.m. Sundays are at 2:30p.m.
Snowdance is an internationally recognized 10 minute comedy festival. Now in its 21st year, this very popular annual event will continue to make Racine, WI the home of the 10 minute comedy. Writers from all over the world submit their scripts to the theatre and a reading committee will help narrow them down to the top ten plays that will be performed each night. Every audience member will receive a ballot to vote for their top three choices. At the end of the run, the top three vote getters receive a cash prize. So far this year, the theatre has received over 700 submissions from around the world.
The Over Our Head Players is a non-profit organization of volunteer theatrical talent presenting their 33rd season. Their season also includes Misery, A Very Schmeatre Christmas, Ride The Cyclone: The Musical and The 39 Steps. Founded in 1992, the mainstay of OOHP has been contemporary comedy; they also have a commitment to original productions.
