“Film Score Extravaganza”
Few would argue that film has become the dominant art form in modern society. But, without music, film would be, well…boring and two-dimensional. The Mozarts and Tchaikovskys of the 20th and 21st centuries are often film score, television, and video game composers.
Can you imagine North by Northwest without the score created by Bernard Hermann or Star Wars without the sweeping music composed by John Williams? Or, how about Disney’s Encanto without Germaine Franco’s Academy Award nominated score? What about Gladiator without Hans Zimmer, or Game of Thrones without Ramin Djawadi?
Whether the music is from the Golden Age of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Sound of Music or todays’s cutting edge dramas like the new Perry Mason with music composed by jazz trumpeter Terence Blanchard, it is integral and essential to our experience with film and television.
Jaws without that bass motif? Not so scary.
