Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting

November 13, 2021

Join us for our annual Downtown Racine Holiday Parade and Tree-lighting Ceremony on Saturday, November 13th.

The parade will begin at 5:30 pm starting at the West side of the State Street bridge, it will continue down Main Street to 6th Street, and travel West on 6th Street and end at City Hall. The Parade will end at approximately 6:45 pm. The Tree-Lighting Ceremony on Monument Square will follow the parade at 6:50 pm, where Mayor Mason and Santa Claus will light the Holiday Tree.

Holiday singers and entertainment will perform before and after the parade. Pre-parade festivities will start at 4:45 pm with 17-year-old Alahna Conley and carolers will be singing some Christmas favorites. The performers will do a few more songs after the parade, as well.

New this year, a small fireworks display will be held sponsored by Educators Credit Union and the Christensen Family In loving memory of Sharon Christensen Fenkl.

Also new to the event, Pub on Wisconsin will be selling their holiday-themed brews and hot cocoa on Monument Square.

“The Holiday Parade and Tree Lighting is the official kickoff to the 2021 holiday season. This event brings the community together to celebrate the season, while shedding light on the phenomenal holiday shopping and dining options downtown offers. I encourage you to bring the entire family, come early for a bite to eat and stay to watch the us officially light up downtown’s holiday tree.” -Kelly Kruse, Executive Director at the Downtown Racine Corporation.

We will be hosting our second annual Warm Accessories Drive to provide essential winter items like scarves, gloves, mittens, and hats for area charities. Items can be dropped off at Monument Square anytime from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on the parade day. As the weather gets colder, it is crucial that we do our part as a community to help the less fortunate. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated!

Festival Foods has always been a strong supporter of Downtown Racine and, again, they are our Holiday Tree Sponsor. Parade goers will be sure to see the Festival Food’s ‘largest shopping cart in the state’ rolling down Main Street during the parade.

There are many sponsors that we would like to thank for supporting this event and ultimately supporting Downtown Racine. These sponsors include: Gendlin, Liverman & Rymer Accident and Injury Attorneys, Johnson Financial Group, Joey’s Yardarm, Joey’s West, Zeigler Honda Racine, Landmark Title, Magnolia Springs Veterinary Clinic, Zmac Transportation Solutions, Reefpoint Brew House, Hispanic Business & Professionals Association, Educators Credit Union, Connect Cell/UScellular, Network Health, Maresh Meredith Funeral Home, Metro Security Services and many more.
