A new event has been added to Downtown Racine's 2009 Calendar of Events. Ladies' Night Out will be held on the third Thursday of each month.

Downtown Merchants will roll out the red carpet for ladies on these special Thursday evenings. Visit over 30 shops and restaurants in Downtown Racine for a fun ladies night out and benefit an important local charity with every purchase.

From 6-9 p.m., paticipating stores will have fun in-store activities, demonstrations or specials to make it a unique shopping experience. Just follow the pink flags throughout Downtown and let the fun begin.

Participating restaurants will also be offering something special. A percentage of every purchase will be donated to the designated chairity of the month.

June Ladies Night Out

The next Ladies Night Out will be held on Thursday, June 18 from 6-9 p.m.  Join in on the fun at over 30 Downtown Racine shops, galleries and restaurants for an evening of shopping, in-store specials and refreshments. 

Plus, a percentage of all sales that evening will be donated to Safe Haven, an organization that works to improve the quality of life for youth and families by providing information and referral services, safe living environments and community intervention. 

Here are some of the special activities that are taking place:

• Moxie Child will be serving complimentary refreshments
• Cup of Hope/Just Trade will be featuring the music of "The Dogs Breakfast", a group of UW-Parkside students who provide music for the soul with jazz undertones.
• Hot Shop Glass will be hosting glass blowing demonstrations from 6-9 p.m.  See women turn molten glass into gorgeous art!
• Funky Hannahs will feature three new earring designs for a quick and easy "make it and wear it" project.  The cost is $10.
• Photographic Design Studio & Gallery will be giving out "Decorating Dollars" - coupons for discounts ranging from 15% - 30% which can be applied to any framed artwork.
